Environmental Education Leadership Development

CCFF served as the fiscal agent for the Golden State Environmental Education Consortium--a large, informal association of educators who are interested in advancing interest and leadership in environmental education. Funded by a five-year Environmental Education and Training Partnership grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and administered by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's "National Environmental Education Advancement Project", the California's program focused on these program goals:

  • Understand what kind of processes are needed to engage under-served audiences in both delivery of and participation in environmental education in California

  • Broadening the definition of "environmental education" through engagement and discussion with constituencies and organizations previously unaffiliated with the environmental education community

  • Engaging in a democratic participatory process of decision making during all activities that honors the diversity of individuals involved as well as all viewpoints.
